High School Sweethearts by Kellie Rodden
They had nothing to say to each other, these two high school sweethearts. They had gone to separate colleges and went their separate ways. Now, fifteen years after graduation they were at the reunion and were seeing each other for the first time. The girl, Nicole, had gone to school on the East Coast, making her the one to move away from their blooming relationship. Tyler, holding onto the immortal words of “if you love something, let it go, and if it returns to you it was meant to be.”

They stared at each other from across the dance floor for a full hour before either one of them got up the courage to cross that ever-growing distance. At the exact same moment, the stars re-aligned and Nicole and Tyler moved to meet each other. The distance between them quickly disappeared. Each saw only love in the other’s eyes. They had nothing to say to each other. They were too busy with other things to be worried about a little thing called talking.
