It's only a mask of what I can be It's only a mask of
the outer me
It's only a mask that through my sensitive eyes see
People who I wish would look past the mask to find the
inner me It's only the mask that they ever see
It's only a mask that was cursed by me
I cursed the mask to blind their eyes
Afraid of what they'd see
Afraid of the things I'd hear
If they found the Inner me Controlled by this constant fear
I hide and I flee
Hiding in every shadow
Hoping they won't find me
As I grow older the days grow colder Freezing tears
from fear and flight
I yell out in vain to God on a starry night
I pray to God destroy the mask
Or let them see beyond sight
It's only a mask
It's only a mask
Used in fright and flight
I pray God bless us all with
Sight beyond sight
It's my mask
